I set up my Chromebox as a single boot to OpenElec. using Matt Devo's intructions and all went well. I have a estata SSD, that came out of a Lenovo Laptop, which I put in a USB enclosure and have hooked up to the Chromebox. When I reboot I get messages in xbmc that it mounted, unmounted, mounted... until it just stays unmounted. The info screen shows it mounted. It works fine with my laptop and my desktop. I don't think this is a power issue that I have read about on the RasPi while goggling this issue. Fairly new to Linnux, but the mount command shows it mounted.

what file system is the hard drive? single or multiple partitions?

Was NTFS, but I reformatted to FAT just to see if that made a difference. It is a single partition 256GB.
