Looking for a small, cool setup with better picture quality then a 1037u.
4k proof.
No dedicated card so igpu is important.

Wich to go for?
A amd a10-7800 or a hashwell with hd4400 ?
Or wait for something being released soon?

What's the problem of the 1037u?

A10 cannot do 4K. 4400 can do.

I have no real problems with the 1037u. Did found that the the picture quality is less then when i put the same source on usb and play directly on tv. Also less then netflix etc.
Image less sharp, colors less vivid. Furthermore I'm very happy with it!

I've been reading a10-7800 could do 4k, now i'm getting confused again.
No true 4k till hdmi 2.0 vut i tought both to be ready.

On linux all amd hw decoding is limited to 2048x1152

Display of 4K is something else and if the CPU is powerful enough, it could decode that 4K content multithreaded.

It might be a color range problem you are seeing with your 1037U. Watch that image with xbmc: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5572...b_test.jpg or as video: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5572...-video.mp4

Do you see all rows? Is the left top square really black or is it dark grey?

Aha. Think I better postpone my next buy then.

About the rows :
I can see all the rows, the top left square is not visible(black).

0 & 1 are invisible. Hard to say if black is real black. If you mean realy realy pitch black i don't think so. Looks more black when I watch on pc. Realy hard to say.
