ATV - missing "Movies" & "TV Shows" on menu and DVD menu issue
#1
A Noob question: I have many movies ripped to VOB files on NAS drive. On XBMC on my PC I get "Movies" & "TV Shows" on my main menu bar. Select Movies and I get a single icon for each movie and the movie plays properly and have functioning menus. On my ATV2 with Gotham there is no "Movies" & "TV Shows" option (grayed out). If I use the "Videos" menu, I am shown all the .vob .ifo files and have to select the correct file and get to the DVD menu by pulling up the OSD after the movie is running. Is this a limitation of the ATV2, or am I missing something.
Thanks!

Both "TV shows" and "Movies" only appear when the files have been added to the local XBMC/Kodi library. See adding videos to the library (wiki).

I'm guessing this was done on the PC but not on the ATV2.

You can also go to XBMC/Kodi -> Settings -> Videos -> File lists -> Combined split video items. That will allow you to start movies without having to select the specific VOB file, even if you don't scan videos into the local library.
