Bug Xbmc 13.2 Can't play some MKV files
#1
Greetings,

I would like to thank you for your great efforts in developing and supporting XBMC/Kodi.
I am currently using XBMC 13.2 on XbmcBuntu, and for some reason I am not able to play some mkv files. (although if I remember correctly they were playing fine in Xbmc 13.0)
I have noticed that even OpenElec after the upgrade to 4.2.0 is not able to play these files although before(v 4.1) I used to be able to play them.

e.g I am not able to play the file: Under.the.Dome.S02E13.Go.Now.720p.WEB.DL.DD5.1.h.264.NTb.mkv
However, I can play it using Windows Media player (same file stored on NAS).
Below are the logs

debug xbmc.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=304556
XBMC crashlog: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=304558

My HTPC info:

Motherboard: MSI Z87I
Processor: Intel i5-4570S
RAM: 16GB
HDD: SSD 120GB "Kingston HyperX "
OS(s): Win 8.1, OpenElec, and XbmcUbuntu
My media files are stored in a NAS server.

Please let me know if you need more info.

Thanks.

Can you rename: "شون ذا شيب" into something else?

For the other files:
Retry from local disk. this looks like a samba path issue.

Next step is reproduce with a nightly ppa version and reporting that issue on trac.xbmc.org - assign it to karlson2k he is our samba, language, encoding dev

Thanks for your reply fritsch, however I don't it is because of the path as for Shaun the Sheep (it is in Arabic) I have S1-3 under thes same path and they are working fine. Only S04 files that I am having issues with playing them in Xbmc 13.2. Before I upgrade OpenElec to 4.2 the files used to work, however they stoped working after the upgrade.

As for Under the Dome, all the other episods in the same locations are working fine except the 13th episode.

Anyway, I renamed the Path of Shaun the Sheep to English instead of Arabic, but with the same result.

Here is the updated log

XBMC crashlog: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=304746

Can you never the less try those two files from local disk? And in case of the non working Shaun the sheep, please extract that very episode.

Also I'd like to have a "mediainfo" of those files.

Sorry, but you are right fritsch. I copied the files to a USB drive, and then I was able to play them from the USB.
So, I tried to change the folder permission and I set it to update all files and subfiles I was able to play the 13th episode of Under the Dome. However, for S04 for Shaun The Sheep I am still not able to play any file inside it from the network, but I can play them from the USB.

So, do you have any suggestion for me so that I can play the files from the network.

Thanks and truly appreciate your help.

Not really an idea - still looks like a permission issue on the server side.
