Is it possible to map one key to play/pause, so that it would also switch to play when pressed in fast forward/rewind modes?
I can't seem to find a way. Looks like it's not possible to map a separate key function only for FF/REW modes.
With default mappings, P-key just sends play-command and Space-key puts XBMC in the pause mode if it's pressed in FF/REW modes.

Not sure what version of Kodi you are using but try mapping the key to PlayPause (rather than just Play).
Also see PR5244 which is now merged into master (Helix).

I'm using latest nightly linux build. I already tested and mapped Space-key in FullscreenVideo to send PlayerControl(Play) and it also works. Probably that is the same function that PlayPause does?
