Android Fire TV, SPMC and hi10p (10 bit anime)
#1
Hello,

I have a Fire TV and can't get my hi10p (10 bit) Animes to work.

The hardware acceleration doesn't seem to work with them (audio only), software acceleration is working but my animes are really laggy then.

Mediacodec enabled = Crash out of XBMC
LibStageFright enabled = Plays audio only, no video
HW accel disabled = Crash out of XBMC
Software accel = Laggy

Can this be fixed? How can I get LibStageFright to work with my hi10p files?

As far as I know there does not exist any hardware codec for hi10p h264.
The only way to play hi10p is with software decode and for that you'll need a powerful desktop class PC.

For some of my hi10p Animes libstagefright seems to work. Anyone knows why?

It does not. It's either decoding it using an 8-bit profile for hardware decoding by mistake, where you will get occasional discoloration, or it's just barely fast enough to use software decoding. XBMC has been programmed to specifically not use hardware video decoding whenever it sees Hi10P, so that it can use multi-threading on CPUs (multiple cores) for better CPU decoding.
