We have made some change recently to protect live streams. Make this change in the config.xml file and see if it restores the live stream for one of these problem channels:
<Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel>0</Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel>
then save the config file and restart swmc. If that solves the problem please let me know.

You have six tuners all the same (same setup as me btw). Set in wmc each channel has a preferred order as to which tuner it is going to use (in wmc see channel>edit sources). Most of the time your channels have roughly the same order, but not always. When you try to tune to a channel it will go to the first in the priority list, if its busy it goes to the second, and so forth.
We implemented protection of a live stream from getting grabbed by wmc's recording service (when it is recording on the same channel) by assigning live-tv streams to the lowest priority channels by default. So that means that your lowest priority tuners aren't receiving those problem channels. When you made that change to the config you turned stream protection off so serverwmc was grabbing the high priority tuners and everything was working again.
So my guess is that some of your tuners at lowest priority aren't actually receiving these channels. Possibly resetting up wmc might solve the problem (might).
You can also set a less flexible method of protecting tuners by setting:
<Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel>2</Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel>
This method picks tuners closer to the top of the priority list, but won't be as successful at protecting tuners if the number of simultaneous streams and recordings is high.

Interesting. I *did* fire up 6 separate QuickTV sessions on the WMC server and tuned them all into the problem channel - no issues. This was while I was trouble shooting, so no clue if something else I did affecting the tuning issues.
Is there a way to selectively turn off HDHR turers? I could then check the problem channels from WMC to see if I can isolate any issues.

Yes, you can go to 'channels> edit sources' in wmc and change the order of the tuners. On one of the problem channels put the bottom tuner on top and see if wmc can tune to it. If it can, then try swmc, I don't think you will need to restart swmc for it to see the changes. This assumes you are keeping protecting live streams turned off (at zero).
