Android [FTV] Audio Problem
#1
I'm having problems playing older video files encoded with Mpeg audio on my Fire TV. The audio crackles, and the program crashes after a minute or so. I've tried tinkering with the audio settings, stereo upmix, # of channels, etc.. and it hasn't made a difference.

There are no problems I have found with Dolby Digital, DTS, or other audio. It's just the older format that is causing issues.

I've tested it with the 13.2 Stable Release, 14.0 Alphas 3/4, and the latest SPMC, and it happens in each of them.

Any help would be appreciated. I can't figure out how to fix it.

After some more testing, I found video files with h.264 encoded video and mpeg audio worked fine. It is possible the problem is with the Xvid encoding?

Code:
11:36:41 T:1675834032   ERROR: ffmpeg[63E332B0]: [mp3] Header missing
There is obviously a badly formated MP3 audio track in those files, for which we probably cannot do anything, but Kodi shouldn't crash.
Could you PM a link to a sample, please.

Thank you for the reply.

That's odd, I watched through the entire series with XBMC on a Raspberry Pi with no issues. I'll do some testing and see if the issue comes up with other episodes of the show.

In more checking, I'm having the same issue with any videos encoded with Xvid video and Mpeg audio. Many different series. I don't think they all have the same badly encoded audio track. No problems whatsoever with anything newer/HD.

Here is another log from where the playback started, same thing. 30 seconds and a crash. Audio popping in and out.

So I can't explain it, but I got it working after I upgraded the Fire TV firmware to the latest version (pre-rooted), completely wiped XBMC and installed SPMC.

I don't know if it was something in the firmware, a corrupt installation, something in my setup, or what, but all is well now.

Thanks for the help.
