Ok, sorry for the delay but I have the log file uploaded. I noticed that one processor was at 100% the whole time. It lagged for a few seconds multiple times using the EPG but no where near as bas as it does sometimes.

Some part of his computer's hardware must be defective. First thing I would try is a reformat. Maybe a fresh install of your OS will fix the problem. Are all of your drivers installed properly on ubuntu?

Sorry, I didn't realize I had a reply. I have thought of trying a fresh install but that would mean moving or wiping 2TB of movies. So my option would be to get a SSD to install the OS on then wipe everything but the media from my 4TB hard disk, or I guess I could have a faulty processor, either way I am spending money and I have no idea which one is going to fix it. The only drivers I am using are the AMD video driver and whatever driver the tuners are using which I was told came preinstalled. I did have to do some work to get the firmware for the tuners but I assume I did that correctly because they work.

Ok, I may have figured something out. I was monitoring xbmc with xbmc system monitor, htop, and ubunutu system monitor. I noticed that it all seemed fine when I was in the windowed view of xbmc but when going to full screen it all went crazy like usual. As soon as I entered full screen the processors took truns bouncing off 100% or close to it, you can see it on the xbmc monitor and on the system monitor graph when I exit. So what does this mean? Do I just need to reinstall xbmc?
Here is a link to the video.

Does it do the same thing when you have "Use a full screen window rather than true full screen" checked in the video output options? Or is that windows OS only?

It is beginning to sound like a video driver issue.

What graphics are you running? Does that AMD system have a built in graphics chipset? If so what is it and what drivers are you running?

To get details on your video chipset:

Code:
lspci

Please also post another debug log as your previous one has disappeared. And the output of /var/log/Xorg.0.log

The easiest way to get these posted to a pastebin is install pastebinit.
Code:
sudo apt-get install pastebinit

Then use it like this
Code:
pastebinit /var/log/Xorg.0.log
- then post the url it returns.

You can also pipe to pastebinit, eg
Code:
lspci|pastebinit

Ragedogg69, I do not see that option.

Here is the lspci result.

Here is the var/log/Xorg.0.log
http://paste.ubuntu.com/9336693/

I will post the debug log in a sec.

I literally started xbmc, put in full screen and they both went to 100%, I sent the log after that and didnt really do anything on xbmc.

I think the problem is that you are using the fglrx drivers, which are deprecated for XBMC.

You should use this driver:

Ok, I will give that a try but I have a couple noob questions. I have UEFI, so do I need the server version instead of the mini? Then I just follow all steps for 0, 1a, and 2? Thanks for all your help, I'll let you know how it turns out.
