Stream Box HELP
#1
Hi
Just a general email about familiarising myself with my stream box which Ive had for 6 months now
I have an MX Media stream box SOLO operating on the Linux operating system with a dual processor
I would love to be able to find my way around this box a bit more. I know the system is built around the XBMC media center with add ons and plug ins and updated by the supplier to keep it functioning and up to date but little else is told about whose supplying the streams, and what indeed are add-ons and plug ins? The only cure for most problems appears to be FIRMWEAR UPDATES/ REINSTALLATION OF SOFTWARE supplied by the box supplier? How do these Linux boxes differ from the Android ones? is it just the installed operating system and what are the advantages and disadvantages of Linux and Android........How do I interpret error messages and select the best streams from the many supplied for some streams?.......is it just hit and miss or is there a science behind the mysterious world of streaming
Anybody familiar with these boxes and/or know of useful tutorials for dummies?

Many thanks

Welcome to forums. Smile

I would like to start to with a couple of helpful pieces of advice of self help.

1) http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=34655 And the read

2) http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=149712

If you then still have any issues or question(s) and they not about 2) please make it into a format defined in 1) and providing the required information to enable people to help you.

Leaving you with yet another thought, -"That it is such addons developers who are responsible for the upkeep or fixes for their addons (hint not here) or the retailers who pedalling those boxes to provide you with support you require.".
