For a completely clean install of Kodi-
1) Delete the Kodi app.
2) In Finder pull down the "Go" menu and select "Go to Folder".
3) Paste this into the text box.
Code:
~/Library/Application Support/
4) Delete the Kodi folder.
5) Re-install Kodi app from the download.

A basic guide can be found here.

You also need to delete or rename any XBMC folder you find in the Application Support folder otherwise all your old XBMC user data + more will just be auto migrated over to the Kodi folder when you start Kodi for the very first time.

This is a major cause of headaches and troubles due to Skin and add-on incompatibilities with a Gotham to Kodi upgrade.
