That's really cool! Too bad the power source is an AC adapter. It'd be hard to hide this behind a TV.

"Windows is not activated" kind of scares me.

There appear to be two versions of the Meegopad T01 on sale. One has Win 8.1 Pro installed, but no activated. The other - reputedly - has Win 8.1 with Bing installed and activated. And is - in some cases - more expensive (as there is a suggestion that OEMs have to pay for Win 8.1 with Bing on these devices, unlike tablets).

See here : http://maketheone.com/product/meegopad-t01/ There are two versions listed there - with early models not having the Bing (and authorised) version.

If you're in the UK Eclipse are selling the Hannspree branded version here : http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product....H-SNNPDI1B £120 inc VAT isn't exactly dirt cheap - but I'd expect the Windows to be official.

Hmm... Easiest isn't always legal... (Though TechNet types shouldn't have a problem I guess?)

My TechNet subscription with the grandfathering in for one more year just ran out... Sad Technet was a very good deal if one was a computer hobbyist and liked playing around with all manner of different operating systems. Sadly, Microsquash has discontinued That aspect of a Technet subscription. An MSDN subscription STARTS at over $1K and I'm really trying to master my Linux.

The device hasn't yet connected to the internet yet either, I'm sure once it does it will authenticate fine. Maybe.

I hope!

I'd be all over this because the hardware is the same as the Intel stick coming out in March and this is $50 cheaper. But not having a legally activated Windows 8.1 is a deal breaker.
