Req loading speed indication in video progress gauge
#1
Hi,

Just had an idea on to how to improve the progress gauge of the a movie.
Problem: when streaming something (p.e. youtube) and the stream is slow, than sometimes it is neccessary to stop the video and give xbmc some time to cache things and to show then a fluent stream.

It would be a great feature if the progress gauge (so the one that shows you the elapsed time of a video) could show for streamed media if:
The stream is loading fast enough to play it withou breaks -> progress = green color
The stream is loading to slow, but xbmc cached enough data, that it should be possible to watch the entire stream without any break (consodering the download speeds remains as fast as actually) -> yellow
The stream is loading to slow and with the actual speed it will not be possible to watch the entire stream (streamlength) without any break -> red

In case of a slow download you could stop the video and wait until the progress gauge turn yellow and then start it again...
Has anyone experienced the same problem, or do you all have a 100mbit uplink? ?

If the stream isn't loading fast enough for uninterrupted playback then XBMC will stop and cache until it has enough for smooth playback. It will start playing the moment it has enough cached.
