Kodi 14 - Portable mode not working
#1
Hi

I have just downloaded Kodi 14 build from today.
When I try to start kodi with the -p parameter, I get an error "Unable to create application. Exiting."

Is portable mode depreciated or should it be launched another way?

Thanks in advance

does it work in regular mode? Which Windows version are you running?

you simply didn't add the -p switch correctly is my guess

It works fine in normal mode.
Running Windows 8.1 Pro x64
Shouldn't this be the way:

This is how it works in XBMC 12

looks ok.
can you move guisettings.xml from the portable folder? (and make a backup).
If still errors
provide a deblog (you need to add a advancedsettings.xml with loglevel 1). See: Debug Log

Are you running Kodi with Admin rights?

Running "As administrator" opens starts the program as expected.

Ahh, its because the folder resides in the program folder, where a regular user has no rights.

Yes, just moved the folder to a location I have full rights to, and Kodi starts as expected.

Thank you!
