Hoping someone with more knowledge than I can help…
I cannot get wasapi audio to output any sound. I’ve chosen Wasapi HDMI as my audio output device. When I attempt to play a song, the player starts up and hangs at 1 second until I stop it. Selecting DirectSound as my audio output device in XBMC settings, everything works fine.
I have the final release of Gotham 13.2 installed. I have tried a complete uninstall/reinstall. I have both exclusive mode options checked in my Windows sound settings.
My system:
Windows Vista 32-bit
Motherboard: ASUS M3AH-HDMI
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2
Video card: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 550 Ti
2 gigs of ram
I have the Nvidia HD Audio drivers installed. I’ve disabled the motherboard’s on board sound in the device manager (made no difference).
I have the HDMI out on my video card connected to a Marantz nr1603 AVR with 5.1 speakers.
I’ve tried multiple sound files with no success (my AVR supports all these different formats anyway).
I did recently successfully use wasapi audio with J River Media Center. Although, I had to choose the push option (for older hardware) in J River’s settings . Whether this has any relevance to my issue with XBMC, I have no idea.
Thanks a ton if anyone can help.
Here are what I believe to be the relevant sections of my debug log...
