Also if you are just using the fire tv for Kodi, make sure you have turned off automatic updates for Amazon apps as this will use memory everytime they update.

I've done that several times daily. Not much difference at this point.

On you Amazon home screen If you go to settings > Applications > Managed installed applications > Kodi (where it says force stop etc) what does it say on data ? What does data say, what does cache say?

If one of these is something then gb not mb that fix should work as this is what it cleans

Was getting the same on my "up stairs" Fire TV box... Storage was showing under 200MB free.

I got a USB stick, and followed -> http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-partially...b-storage/ and now I have 1.6GB free and the message has not re-appeared.

Hey evryone you can also use the Raw Maintenance add on to delete cache thumbnails and purge packages therefor cleaning up storage on firetv....you can get this from raw media kodi repo

i had this happen to me once. no maintenance add on worked. i wiped it, then reinstalled kodi and had no issues since. i was thinking it was an adbfire loading issue.

Has anything been downloaded to the internal storage? Kodi apk via the ES file manager app install method perhaps? I would check for stuff like this if you've already deleted thumbnails and textures13.db.

Omg.. I was having nf the same problem. I followed all of you guys instructions. My kodi app is COMPLETELY wiped! EVERY thing is gone! Not only videos, movies.. Even the LABELS! the system label is blank. I can click on it and select it... When I go in.. It's. Just empty browsers. What has happened?!

Hello, I am having the same problem, after buying Prime from Amazon, the Photos app is making a huge data size: 3-3.5 Gb of data, and I have to clear data once a day. My Amazon Fire Tv is rooted, anyone knows how to remove the Photos app?

Thanks!

So has anyone gotten a simply solution after all this time?  I have a Insignia 50 inch Fire TV 4K (Amazon) I have tried it with doing the KODI install and get constant low storage messages (the Insignia is the 4K era TV but only has 8GB of internal storage) I added a USB Thumb-drive and moved  as many of the downloaded applications that could be moved to the USB drive as possible  -- but I still can't seem to maintain the required 500MB of space the TV wants as it's internal free memory?  This is such a PAIN!  What other ways can I enjoy a multitude of programs and free TV shows without dealing with KODI or other forms of application management?

The thumbnails directory is huge by itself. The rest of the Kodi files should be mostly irrelevant. Use path substitution to put your thumbnails on your file server.

https://kodi.wiki/view/Path_substitution

Example

Code:
<advancedsettings>
  <videodatabase>
    <type>mysql</type>
    <host>sql.mylan.home</host>
    <name>jygvideo</name>
    <port>3306</port>
    <user>kodi</user>
    <pass>kodi</pass>
  </videodatabase>
  <musicdatabase>
    <type>mysql</type>
    <host>sql.mylan.home</host>
    <name>ourmusic</name>
    <port>3306</port>
    <user>kodi</user>
    <pass>kodi</pass>
  </musicdatabase>
  <videolibrary>
    <importwatchedstate>true</importwatchedstate>
    <importresumepoint>true</importresumepoint>
  </videolibrary>
  <loglevel>1</loglevel>
  <pathsubstitution>
    <substitute>
      <from>special://profile/Thumbnails/</from>
      <to>nfs://192.168.1.2/snapraid/pool/backups/kodithumbs/firetv/</to>
    </substitute>
  </pathsubstitution>
</advancedsettings>
