Bitstreaming getting no HD dts audio???
#1
HI guys,

I have a toshiba laptop from 2011 that I'm trying to bitstream hd audio to my yamaha receiver. However, when I look at encoded formats under the sound device it doesnt list dts hd or dolby hd as one of them. it just lists regular dts and dolby digital. Is there a driver or something I can download to make it pass hd audio thru my hdmi or is the hardware restricted to just regular dts? I tried downloading the intel interface engine driver but that didnt do anything. The laptop is a intel core i3 toshiba from around 2011. When I go to sound under the control panel, it lists my tv as a device for sound. I try to use WASAPI under this tv name in xbmc but I get no sound. everyting else will work sound wise on xbmc but the HD sound, so clearly its not passing the hd sound thru. Any suggestions or advice?

Debug Log will show
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Your laptop's GPU must support HD audio bitstreaming. If it lists DTS or Dolby Digital only it might be possible that your GPU is not up to the task.

You use the DirectSound sink in your log (please use xbmclogs.com next time) and don't paste it inline.

From your enumeration:

No. Nothing there that uses WASAPI.

Seems you did not even enable passthrough at all (Advanced Settings hierarchies).
