What skin are you using?

Where are you trying to use the keyboard? And are you using Helix?

I've used it for searching on a few addons as well as entering a few login details.
I'm using 13.2 But I'm not averse to using helix - once I've backed up the settings.

Correction- I just checked. I am on Helix of 19/10 build.

The only real XBMC/Kodi-related thing that you might want root for is for loading local USB drives for videos, but if you are using a network file server or add-ons then this probably doesn't matter to you. You don't even have to block updates, but it might be a good idea to still do so, just in case.

How do you block update ?
iMac OS X 10.10, ATV3, LG 3D TV, Onkyo Home cinema 5.1,SLICE/OpenELEC/HELIX
