Upgrade to Libdvdnav and Libdvdread to 5.0.0 or later?

libdvdnav and libdvdread 5.0.0 have been released last month

New releases are out for both libdvdnav and libdvdread. Changes include:
  • Android support
  • fixes for numerous crashes, assertions and corruptions
  • rewrite of the build-system, including silent rules
  • code clean-ups, simplifications and warnings removal
  • fixing compilation in C++ applications
  • removal of remap .MAP files unused feature
  • removal of the dvdnavmini library
  • fixing compilation on OS/2 and Hurd
  • fixing crashes in IFO parsing (Shark Week The Great Bites Collection)

It would also be nice to change dvdnav and dvdread API usage to rely only on public API which would allow using system's dvdnav and dvdread libraries without losing any features.
The new upstream seems to be very responsive and probably open to improving the API to let this happen.
