I recently ordered a cuboxtv and I will connect it to my old LG 32LX2R. This TV is not equipped with CEC.

What would you recommend me as a remote control for the cuboxtv? I'm not interested in any android/windows phone/iOS applications.

Am I able to map the LG's remote control so it can control the box?

I think any MCE remote would work. People really like the HP MCE remote, and it's pretty cheap. The Xbox 360 black slim remote should work as well, and I really like that one.

On top of MCE the Cubox IR receiver handles RC5 so lots of remotes are supported with lirc and most other IR remote controls can probably can be learned
