Script to shutdown Buffalo LinkStation

Lightbulb
Does anyone know whether this would be possible, or does any one know what commands would be envolved, i.e. commands that need to be sent to the LinkStation.

This thread touches on the idea, but doesnt seem to have been looked at for ages.
Would this be the best way, through Telnet? Or would it be possible/easier through http, as the web UI for the LinkStation lets it be shut down through http.

I am willing to co-operate in the making of the script, but just need some guides on how to set about doing this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Many thanks,

Question
Seems a while since anyone has looked at this thread, but anyways, ill try.
I did a little more research myself, and found that http://192.168.x.x/cgi-bin/setup-shutdown-in.cgi needs to be sent to the LinkStation for it to shutdown. But now what I need to know is how to send this to the LinkStation in XBMC.
Oh, happy Christmas by the way, to everyone!
Please help,
Thanks,
Bazzy
