Hi Guys.

I have an MCE RC6 remote and receiver. They work fine on my windows 7 kodi rc3 setup (same computer) but refuse to work with Linux version. (or openelec 4.97.2)

I have followed the install instructions in the wiki regarding lirc, but still no luck.

The receiver shows up as installed and i can get an output from irw via ssh, but kodi will not respond to inputs

Does anybody have any suggestions as i would really like to get this sorted.

It is a bit intricate.

Look at LIRC (wiki) and Keymap (wiki)

You will need to have 3 files in place and properly configuered:
- remote.xml
- lircmap.xml
- lircd.conf

"You push a button on your remote (lircd.conf), That button is seen by the XBMC translator (Lircmap.xml), XBMC starts the requested command (remote.xml)"

Sorry to dig this up from the past, but i eventually managed to figure this out.

I have found out that if you have programmed the volume and aditional power buttons to work you Amp, it point blank refused to work.

Resetting the remote to defaults (hold down Left button, press DVD Menu and then OK) sorted this out. Strange as it works fine on a win7 Kodi install.
