i upgraded to kodi on windows 8 . icant get a shortcut icon on the screen. any suggestions,

go to where you downloaded Kodi, I.E folder, then right click for shortcut, put on desktop..

You might want to check out free tool Oblytile. Makes a nice "modern UI" tile from a desktop shortcut.
