Win adding non-local videos.
#1
Hey, new to the forum and kodi.
So, im at my girlfriends house using her laptop, windows 8. I have a NAS drive at my home with internet sharing, just type in the webadress "mynas.lacie.com/username" then login. user/password.

My question:
How do I add my NAS in Kodi on GF's laptop for streaming and browsing through the videos? been googling for a couple of days now.
It works great at home via LAN, but cant figure out how to connect over internet.

thanks for all the help u can give.

Not 100% but go onto file manager and add a new source and put the IP address of the nas in there.

No I mean find file manager. It's usually near settings on the main menu and then click add source and then that's where you add your IP

wrong place

go to:
videos-> files -> add the share -> set no content -> hit ok. Now you are able to just browse through those videos

Nope that's where you add a new source like I mentioned.

You're on about adding a new video source to the library.
But I was saying about adding a new source in general through file manager your getting confused

Op is trying to add a video source. That is done via video, not file manager.

And I am saying that is not the correct way. I think I know what I'm talking about.

Matijn, I assume your response is to Steve, not me.
