Currently if your in autoswitch between 16:9 and 4:3 mode (for video resolution) you have to manually adjust your tv to stretch 4:3 content out to 16:9, since xbmc will try but the tv will still frame it 4:3, presumably because the 16:9 flag isnt sent.

it'd be neat if xbmc could send the 16:9 scart control when stretching 4:3 content to 16:9.

XBMC sends the 16:9 signal only when displaying things in a 16:9 resolution.

If it's displaying in a 4:3 resolution, then the flag is not sent.

It seems as though what you want is it to not auto-stretch - that way it'll output in 16x9, you can then stretch via the viewmode so that it fills the screen, and your TV can then mutilate it in whatever way you see fit.
