But how much better is it running Kodi?
Is the software optimized to run with quad core?

Running an HDHomerun Prime (Network TV tuner) and having Comcast still using MPEG2 for 1080i broadcasts (live sports channels have huge bitrates) I spent months through trial and error trying to get the original pi to work properly with live channels under OpenELEC. So I have to buy a case with fan and heat sinks to push overclocking to high levels. Then I bought a Sandisk Extreme card and 2 Amp power supply to finally get things stable.
With the Pi2, I dont need any of that. First boot, no overclocking, using a class 6 microSDHC card, live sports channels worked fine.
