Same issue here with my minix x7 using spdif passthrough, have gone back to spmc 14.2 as it works well, where as any of the isenguard builds the sound drops every few seconds when using passthrough.

Same issue with my Android TV (RK3188) 4.4.2. The problem is consistently reproducible . Problem is only with Dolby AC3 and DTS, other audios MP3, ACC do not have the problem.

(Stereo Up-mix does not seem to work either.)

Other players with Pass through Archos and MX Player work OK.

I can post debug log if it will help but it seems you may have enough information for now.

can you post also model and vendor?

Referring to this post http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2111399 the issue could be firmware related, so i think it's important to identify the product and not only the chipset.

I also have same problem same on csa91 and on i68 both with these crappy no good rockchip 3368 chips.... good for garage how can you release TV boxes without 5.1 audio working?? what's next black and white picture??. Guys of you get a way of making it work firmware or whatever way let me know thanks

It aint firmware, I have two other video players that work fine but don't have all the Kodi features. I also have tried another half dozen that don't even come close to working so don't get so critical about the Kodi team.

I think we all respect and are grateful to the kodi team: if we are here is because we consider it a very good software.

If I understand correctly the link i posted here http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2140817 all the matter is about a lack of implementation of certain API (MediaCodec) by the Firmware developers (that are different from the Kodi developers).

So I think it's not a problem with the chipset neither with the Kodi software, but it is a problem with the vendor of the hardware platform (that is usually responsible also for the fw).

Said that, it would be nice to have some feedback about the possibility to have some workaround for this, or if we need to change the hardware (is there a HCL?) to make it work.

Just to let you know, i just tried different software with my Beelink i68:

SPMC (from Play Store), hw video acceleration not working, audio playback not working at all.
Kodi 14.2 (installing from apk), audio is ok but it is not passthru, my receiver gets a already decoded signal.

Do you have a link to a firmware upgrade how-to or can you tell me your procedure?
I found nothing that makes me confident on internet yet.
