Linux Ubuntu Kernel 3.19.0-26
#1
After upgrading Kodi to 15.1, as part of the upgrade of my system, the kernel was also upgraded, but after the reboot Kodi would not launch.. Unable to initiate GUI, or something of that nature..

Rolling back Kodi to 15.0 didnt resolve the issue, however running an earlier version of the kernel did resolve it.

Could someone compile kodi on the later kernel version and test please. It could just be that kodi 15.1 for ubuntu was compiled before the new kernel version, in which case a recompile should resolve the issue

i'm assuming you're using the open source drivers?
what is your system?
AMD? what processor?

there were some issues with the 3.19 kernel, and the open source drivers on some systems.
i'd suggest going to kernel 4.0 or 4.1. you should have better success, and the fan control is MUCH better -- along with other features.
Linux Mint 18 LTS 64-bit - Kodi 17 Beta6
Odroid-C2 - Libreelec v7.90.009
