was the elo touch screen ever resolved?
I am running xbmc on ubuntu 9.10 with evo_touch driver. it works well with other software. i have searched these forums... and it says that xbmc will work with touch if used as mouse. i think thats what it's doing - how can i check? are there any patches? or suggestions? |

Why doesn't XBMC have volume slider in its OSD? Every media player I know has one. Not having it makes it impossible to control the volume through a touch screen if you don't have a keyboard.
I think it deserves a place in the standard skin! |

Not having it makes it impossible to control the volume through a touch screen if you don't have a keyboard. Team-XBMC's Skin guru, Jezz_X, has some awesome skin prototypes in store for us. His first one is already the default skin for the iPad and other iOS touch devices called Touched, but he's already working on more. One of those will likely become the default "touch" skin. There's also some user mods of the default skin that make it more touch friendly. Search for "Confluence touch" or something like that, and it should pop upl |

When I search for "Confluence touch" the first link says:
[MOD] Confluence touch me! WORKED STOPED on this SKIN Oktober 2010 suggesting a dead end. I have also asked Jazz_X for a volume control but iOS seems not to support that. But I don't run iOS but Win7, and in a very nice setup. The only thing I miss is a volume control. In my opinion a good media center needs to have one. All others do... |

a friend gave me an elo touchscreen, and i tried it with win7/dharma a while back. i thought one of the biggest issues was the inability to swipe or flick down a list. also the context menu was a problem.

Swiping works OK for me, but the context menu (click-hold in Windows) is a problem indeed

touch volume buttons is coming, but will be after Eden final is released.
With multi touch XBMC should support two finger tap for "right click" which brings up the contextual menu. Should work in Windows 7, at least. There was a time when we used two quick taps for the contextual menu, so a build with that is possible for non-multi-touch screens. You can make easy links to the XBMC wiki using double brackets around words: [[debug log]] = debug log, [[Add-on:YouTube]] = Add-on:YouTube, [[Adding videos to the library]] = Adding videos to the library, [[userdata]] = userdata, etc |
