This seems to be getting alot better
encoded a film earlier in nero digital
Nero Digital AVC highest settings cabac on deblocking on
720x480 5.1 aac
45min program 700meg
aslong as my lan cache is high enough its fine
first 36 frames dropped then its fine 0 dropped frames
average 70% cpu time going from 65% to 75%
the audio decoder is a bit buggy though there's a low pitch hum all the way through it
but it might just be my build (a week old ish)
last time i tried an encode with these settings it was a slide show
1fps..

1280x720 Xvid plays just fine
ac3 audio 448k
about 51% cpu time
Still doesnt like useing over 64meg of ram though
if free ram goes under 64meg the fps goto like 3
so i have to set lan cache size to 8meg on some stuff instead of 16

the 36 dropped frames was the available ram going under 64meg at the start of the film
setting cache down a touch so it takes it to 64meg free stopped that
its odd xbmc see's there's 128meg of ram
but realy realy dont like to use over 64meg

Is Trusty still doing this upgrades? is it possible to buy an upgraded xbox from him instead of shipping back and forth?

Not sure if any advange comes from a 1Ghz Xbox with XBMC - maybe Linux or Emulators.
I think there are a few floating around... any 1Ghz owners ever do some side by side testing with a 733 box?

This is what I got about a year ago when I asked about these kinda things.......
"XBMC will not use ANY of the extra resources added to the xbox." I may recognize it as having more, but will not benifit from them.
