Shouldn't make a difference, but Shield has some colorspace & banding issues that will hopefully be corrected in the next firmware update. Don't have a Core yet yo say.

Was replying to OP's two choices, you're right as he/she mentions "3d projector", RPi2 or HiMedia Q5 would be nice options too.

I like both almost equally, but prefer Q5 a bit more as it's better at playing ISO's (especially those that may have minor rip errors, which tend to trip the Pi2).
