Hi there. I could also give this a try. I have DreamBox 7025+ with Gemini2 v3.2.
I have managed to do this without any script by ripping the ChannelstreamURLS form each channel (webUI) and placing those data into .strm files in one folder on XBMC with thumbs. Then I just added a source from Videos to that folder and bounced them into favourites list. Works.

very good idea! its working! only problem with this you cant watch the other channels which are on the same LNB as the one on youre telly. this mean you will not get to watch all of youre channels without actually swapping tuner manually on the dreambox to "free" the other tuner. But this is peanuts!

Your script looks interesting indeed. One question though...

It's supposed to make the dreambox stream the video. Stream to where? Out of its A/V connectors or trough the XBOX and up to the connected TV?

I'd be happy to do some work on this if I can find the docos for the WebInterface. (making up/learning python as I go along)
