I just tried a few sbs movies that I have on my collection and I can play properly on kodi. But if I have to pick the subtitles from a converted subtitle file (ssa ) the kodi can't handle it.

What happen on kodi is: the movie is in 3D like it should but the subtitles was not mixed to one, it is 2 times on screen (sbs) .

This is a bug or it's not implemented on kodi?

I have a Sony 2015 4K Android TV with kodi 16.1rc2

I just tried with Archos video player and works fine , like the video app from Sony too. The vlc like kodi can't handle the ssa 3D subtitle.

If you want to test with a converted srt file you can convert on this website to a 3D ssa

Kodi does not require 3D subtitles - it will duplicate regular subs and apply the depths you defined in settings. And as we can't detect which subs are sbs and which arent we currently assume they are not
