and here is a sample of the new webpage sourcecode

I'll branch very soon which will make it easier to try, would be sad if you wasted time on making a great interface on something that changes soon Smile

Cheers,

Actually, I was already planning to use AJAX over the HTTPAPI, now I'll use it through the JSON API. Thanks for the heads-up though.

Any idea if this change makes it to b3?
*Edit:* never mind, I see it didn't make it to RC1.

Okay, the portrait mockups are ready. I decided to scrap the media browser in favour of a media center style remote (only more based on touch of course Wink) for those who do not have a remote to control their HTPC with.

The dial is the main controller. Moving the central dot from its central position simulates one keystroke every 30deg. It springs back to the center when done. It can be used to quickly scroll through lists without lifting your finger from the iPhone/iPod.

Some functionality is being duplicated, but you are free to use whichever method of control you prefer.

Using the rotator for up/down motion:

Though it is not very obvious (working on it), the texts 'Okay', 'Return' are actually buttons.

In other news, the webpage construction has started. Every second I spend on it brings something even more impressive about webkit than before!

The title says it all. Apparently web apps for the iPhone do not have the same performance, and the remote has significant delays and even artifacts in the display. The unfinished code is available for anyone who wants to play with it, improve it, or just see for themselves.

I am now starting ground-up on a different style. Will post it soon.

Hey Soumya92,
are you still working on this? I have created my own web remote, you can check it out here:

and here:

Your UI is much nicer than mine for playback controls. How far through your development are you? It might be worthwhile taking a look at my remote code and maybe combining it with your awesome looking UI.
