Gmail FS support

Hey all.

With the new release of Gmail's storage capacity that can be upgraded to 250gb I believe Shocked, I think it would be neat to have XBMC support for Gmail FS(Filesystem). There is already a windows shell extention that allows you to access files on your Gmail drive just like you would any network drive.

I think this could be useful for people with pictures that are on Picasa web albums or for people that want to put some videos or songs on their Gmail "Drive" that can be accessed from anywhere with a LAN connection.

I think there might be a way to add it as a network share that is already on a local computer just as you would any drive on that PC... I'm not too sure. I will do some research when I get home about some of those specifics. I would be more interested in cutting out the middle man and just adding it as a network source that does not rely on a PC, just a network connection.

If anyone of the devs is interested in this, I think it would be pretty neat to have that access. I know I'm likely to get "patch welcome" but that's ok XBMC rocks as it is and this is just a suggestion. Keep up the good work guys. Cheers!Laugh

Well i like the idea very much, with my 24mbit Internet connection Big Grin i easily can playback files from Google Storage FS.

It's only expensive:

I agree with the high prices T. We can only hope that competition can bring that down. Hell Amazon S3 is like 15 cents a gig. Even still I feel that this could be useful even just for a couple of photo albums, mp3s or video clips accessible anywhere. I think 3 or 4 gigs is free.

Ok. Just got home and tried to add this drive located on my PC to the Xbox and it's a no go. It's not like a regular drive. If you get the drive properties to see the location, it looks like this: ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\::{2B3453E4-49DF-11D3-8229-0080BE509050}
