I realise that I will probably get blasted for asking this, but does anyone have a very rough idea when the final Krypton may be released.

Just the nearest month or 1/4 will do.

When it is released should it install over my existing installation or will it have to be a clean install.

Sorry no guessing allowed. It should install over your existing installation, at least that's how it's been in the past.
