How about throttling our ac3 encoder to worst quality to cope with fw bugs on droid?

It's in the code: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master...eg.cpp#L21 <- that was just kidding, we won't reduce audio quality cause of some broken firmware or private API of a tv or box that does not receive any updates by vendor anymore and was fou*ing expensive.
