I added the music plugins folder as a source in music, but it doesn't recognize the plugin and browses the actual folder.
The video plugins work fine.

Probably an issue with the actual plugin.
Without mentioning what it is, and what exactly the filesystem layout of it is, we can't do much to help.
A Debug Log may also be helpful.

and you cannot add the plugin dir as a source - the plugin itself is the source
