i think if somebody really need to read pdf on xbmc. they can easily do some small batch to convert pdf to pics on pc.

darkvamp if u are looking for some coding that helps to this situation too. improve the zooming + panning speed/functionality (maybe like in dvdx2).
there is already one submitted patch to my pics that isnt included in cvs, maybe start from that.

is it possible to add pdf reading ability to media center? it might be a good thing since many ebooks are in pdf format. what better way of reading ebooks than being in bed or a couch... way better than reading it on your monitors....

is it worth it?

regards,
chris

i think it would be great if xbmc supported viewing .pdf files. i have a huge collection of xbox game manuals that are in pdf format and i would love to be able to read them on my xbox. what do you guys think? there is an open source pdf reader called xpdf. their website is here:

http://www.foolabs.com/xpdf/

i believe it is written in c++ which should make it fairly possible.
let me know what you all think

please search before posting, pdf reader has been suggested many times before. ps! xbmc is a multimedia player/center, not a os.

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.

imho - xbmc should handle all media including ebooks which are typically in pdf...

i don't like stting in front of my computer all sunday reading an ebook but lying on my couch in the livingroom watching "ebook tv" could be kinda cool

could such a thing be intigrated into xbmc for the purposes of say, documentation reading while in the package?

in some instances such an implimentation could help in alot of troubleshooting issues.

hey, i was thinking that it would be great if there was a feature that allowed you to view pdf files, kind of like images, except with playback controls, like zoom in, zoom out, next page, bookmarks, etc. and maybe even be able to listen to mp3's while your reading. this realy would be a great addition i think. btw anyone know if theres any scripts that already do this?
