Linux HOW-TO: Install Kodi 17.x (Krypton) on Fedora 25 Using RPMFusion Packages
#1
(Note to forum mods - please move this post to the Tips, tricks, and step by step guides section, since it points to the updated Kodi Wiki page. Thanks!)

The HOW-TO: Install Kodi on Fedora 25 Using RPMFusion Packages wiki has been updated as follows:
  • The referenced version of Fedora has been upgraded from 23 to 25 (released 2016-Nov-22)
  • The referenced version of Kodi has been upgraded from 15.x (Isengard) to 17.0 Krypton BETA 5 (final release TBA)
This guide presents an approach to turning a minimal installation of Fedora 25 into a standalone Kodi 17.x (Krypton) installation, with minimal additional software / overhead. The Kodi packages available from RPMFusion are used as the basis for this setup. At the end of this guide you will have a set-top box style of system that, when powered up, will quickly boot and then start Kodi automatically without intervention (e.g. no need to first log in).

The updated wiki has been tested and works well on a box with an older nVidia GT240 video card (using nVidia's 340.x series driver). However additional testing and feedback from the community on more modern nVidia cards (using nVidia's 375.x or newer drivers) as well as AMD video cards would be greatly appreciated.

Happy installing!
