I have Ubuntu 10.10 and latest XBMC installed from lucid repositories (maverick wasn't available)
The skin is CONFLUENCE.
It seems that the installation lacks something.

- If I extract the SVN repo in plugins/programs dir, I can't see the plugin in xbmc
- there is no favourites.xml, and if I create it referring to the SVN REPO plugin, I can't access it when I'm going to add source.
- There is not System/Addons/get new addons entry in Xbmc menus.

I scanned the forum but I'm not able to find an appropriate answer to this problem..what can I do to solve this ?
I'm completely stuck with plugins..!

I am not sure why you are using the SVN repo Installer on a recent version of XBMC. XBMC now uses Addons and not script/plugin anymore. If you want to get addons from xbmc addons repository (on google code), you need to to it from settings -> addons.

Question  Installing SVN Repo Installer? Post: #462
Howdy,

I would like to install the SVN Repo installer on xbmc (Dharma RC2 on Ubuntu 10.10). However, I'm confused about where to unzip it.

In the wiki it says to unzip it in the "plugins/programs" folder. However, my xbmc directory only has the following folders:
~/.xbmc/addons
~/.xbmc/media
~/.xbmc/sounds
~/.xbmc/system
~/.xbmc/temp
~/.xbmc/userdata

I tried creating a "/plugins/programs" folder, but it doesn't show up in xbmc.

Any advice?

the info on the wiki is for xbmc camelot.

on dharma you don't need the svn repo installer anymore,
it's all built-in now. just check System > Add-ons.

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not PM or e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

you need to know if it's dharma compatible, if not, you'll have to ask the author to upgrade it.

Ok, is there someplace that says whether it's compatible? I tried installing it from the zip, and it failed.

On a side note, is there a website/repository that has Dharma-ready addons?

If they are in they are in the addons browser they are compatible. If they are in a third party repo, they are probably compatible.

If they don't explicitly state they are Dharma compatible, they probably aren't. If they are a old script, plugin, skin then they wont work.

Third party repo's here - http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Uno...positories

Awesome, thanks! It doesn't look like the Yahoo trailers is available, but the Apple trailers does look available for Dharma. I can go with that.

In the first post there's a link to what i assume is the "Non-Dharma"
old style repo installer plugins.
http://xbmc-addons.googlecode.com/svn/tr...ins/video/
There are 2 goodies there that really would be nice to have ported to
Dharma compatibility.
That is:
Family Guy & Mythbusters
Don't know who's the author of these, but any help to get these to work in
Dharma is appreciated.

While i'm at it, Simpsons would be nice to..Tongue

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me with the new version of XBMC. The old version was my fav cause it had all my favorite plugins and scrips. I have been trying to follow your directions on adding them to the new version, but i can't seem to get it right. Please help me to add all my favorite plugin and scripts.
