Currently playmedia() does not support smartplaylists. This means python, httpapi and remote/controller interfaces are unable to call a smartplaylist.

I'm hoping to find a dev that finds this feature as useful as I will and might be inclined to work on it

Did you have any specific applications for this feature in mind? (just curious)

Using a universal remote (mine is a 880 harmony) Buttons are assigned to different smart playlists (70s, 80s, frequently played, whatever) on the LCD screen on the remote. It makes for 1 touch playlists
