I started a thread on Ubuntu Forums since I was unable to get a higher resolution than 720x576 on my secondary screen using 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon.
Here is the link: Ubuntu Forums
Here is my setup:
Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon
NVidia 7800 GTX
Restricted drivers (100.14.19)
dongle
component cable
BenQ MP610 projector
I can get HD1080i to work in Windows.
Has someone a similar setup that outputs HD format on a TV screen?
HD on secondary screen NVidia 7800 GTX (Component)

It is working now!!
I installed the latest version of Envy for Ubuntu (21 dec 2007). I have it running on 720p. It looks amazing. Merry Christmas. |

Does that version of Envy have the latest 169.xx NVIDIA drivers? In an attempt to get my display working properly I foolishly used the NVIDIA binary installer. the results were "not pretty" and I'm currently going to my backup to get it running again - I cannot wait to try out DVD playback
If Envy has the ability to load the new driver released on Dev 20th I'll be all over it. Last I'd checked the package manager for Mythbuntu was claiming I was up to date but I didn't appear to have that needed driver version <sigh>
