I am encountering this error on startup so I can take no steps from inside the program. I have uninstalled Kodi, Purged the folder from %appdata% and I keep hitting the same wall. It was working up until yesterday and I have installed no updates recently. I need help.

Please don't post log files in the forum, go to a public pastebin.com and copy them there and link that URL back to this thread. Your log doesn't have the debug section turned on and is not complete, go to settings>system>logging and toggle that. Your issues has been discussed in many threads, http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=240337 Drivers and the graphic engine seem to be the culprits.

Thank you for the assistance, but I'm unable to enable logging since the error occurs upon login. Is there a known conflict with Nvidia MSI geforce 1080 drivers because I have not needed to update in more than a month and this error only occurred yesterday?

You can enable the debug log prior to launch with an advancedsettings.xml file Log file/Advanced (wiki) section 1.2 Turn on debugging using a file (advancedsettings.xml) If you're only seeing this error recently and the system has been fine without changes then the debug log will hint at the causation. OTH: if you have made changes, then the changes are suspect.

Suggestion: This is the time to consider a Krypton install, and hopefully the issue will move somewhere else.

Do you have a joystick plugged in? If so pull it out.

Thank you so damn much. However did you figure that one out? I was pouring through the log and though it had something to do with the sound drivers for the HDMI output.

I'll admit a coffee pouring over those logs, but saw the joystick listing -> [bang] and it's turned up; because it's happened before.
