Well, I'm certainly not very advanced in setting up the log file, I was able to deduce that it was that pesky addons file, mine was also at 0 bytes in size, deleted it, then did the upgrade to 17.
Low and behold, runs like a champ. So this could have simply been explained that way.

Seek out that file and delete it, then try the upgrade.


None the less, thanks to the dialog between you two, that did the trick.

If you install over Kodi 16, you should have addons26.db, and on first run (or addons27.db is not found) Kodi 17 should read that db and use it to create addons27.db.

1.Just uninstall the old kodi
2.Go to Run and type %APPDATA% and enter
3.find the Kodi folder and just delete the kodi folder and make sure it will be also delete from your recycle Bin .
4.Now Download the latest version kodi 17.1 from kodi site and install
5.Open kodi exe Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!
