Kodi won't install on my kindle fire

I have a kindle fire HD10 (5th generation). I'm trying to install the kodi app. I'm able to download the app but it won't install. Does anyone have any insight on this? Thank you!

IMPORTANT:
The official Kodi version does not contain any content what so ever. This means that you should provide your own content from a local or remote storage location, DVD, Blu-Ray or any other media carrier that you own. Additionally Kodi allows you to install third-party plugins that may provide access to content that is freely available on the official content provider website. The watching or listening of illegal or pirated content which would otherwise need to be paid for is not endorsed or approved by Team Kodi.

Make sure you have enabled "Apps from Unkown Sources" under Settings>Security>Advanced. I was able to download the latest stable Kodi version and install it with no problems on my Fire. Cool

got the similar problem on kindle fire 7" 5th gen, 15.2 will install, tried to upgrade and 16.1 and 17.1 just says "app not installed"
can anyone shed any light on this?
running fire os 5.1.2
