I have an Amazon Fire stick with Kodi 16.1 installed at the moment but have been trying various ways of updating to Kodi 17 without much success.
I can install ver 17 but when I go to launch the Kodi app it shows the Kodi v17 start up screen then goes blank and kicks me out of the Kodi app.

I have ensured that the two settings in the developer options are on before trying to download v17.1 .

I have tried downloader and Es

Any help would be much appreciated

If Kodi will not start you'll have to use the Advanced method.

Have you tried a fresh instal ?
Delete version 16 and then install version 17.
I had the same problem with my Sony Android Tv & that's how I solved it.
No problem since.
