Use your iPhone as a XBMC for Mac OS X remote

Thumbs Up
Modified the remote from
http://code.google.com/p/telekinesis-tapps/ a bit.
Don't know how many of you find this is useful, but I do and it works just great!

Some critical buttons i've missed? Some other buttons/functions you would like to see?
(even if the screen is quite full already if you want to keep it on 1 page w/o scrolling..)
The X is programmed to launch XBMC if not already running and in case it is, it acts as the enter button.

If someone's interested and don't want to make their own custom remote I could upload this after cleaning up a bit..

Not cleaned up.. there's still some other remotes etc.
But give it a try and try to make it even better!
Will post if I make some big changes.

Tried it with edge, works great.
Good night

Question
Does it work on the iPod Touch as well?, ...not that I have one, just curious
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

Yeah, I don't see why it woudn't, but then just via WLAN, which drains the battery quite a lot..
Best option would probably be to have a flat-rate Edge subscription.
I'm amazed how fast the response time is with Edge.

zebb,

I haven't tried this out at home yet, but from the look of directory structure it seems to just require that users have Apache ("web sharing" in Applespeak) enabled, and have a working PHP environment. Is there anything else that we'll need to have working to use this?

Thanks

There isn't any possibility this could get to work with the internal webserver so it would work on Linux/xbox also?

Could someone tell me the difference between this remote control and the other two?

1.
http://tlrobinson.net/projects/xbmciphone/
http://code.google.com/p/xbmciphone/
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=326000
http://www.tuaw.com/2007/07/30/use-your-...mc-remote/

2.
http://code.google.com/p/iphone-xbmc-controller/

I only have tried the first one and its controlled using the webserver. The other one seems to be a native application.

Which one should I choose? Big Grin They all seems great, but the one I've tried (the first one) seems not to be developed any more...

Hello markiz,
im not so familiar with the ones you mention, but don't you just browse your files with those and choose which one to play on your Xbox?

With this you control OsXbmx in the same way as you would with a normal xbox remote.

Yeah, I would like your copy, it looks great! I was using VNsea to vnc into my mini, but that remote would be much more simple. Btw, are you running 1.1.3 on your phone?

You don't install it on the phone Sad that's the ugly side of it..
You install the Telekinesis server on your Mac and then open the remote via Safari on your phone.
Hope you'll get it to work!
