Is OSXBMC supposed to detect ethernet and work right out of the box?
The reason I ask is because I can't connect to any of the online features, such as IMDB lookup, Allmusic lookup, etc. In the network settings it appears to be showing "eth0" as the device, but I have no idea if that means my ethernet card is detected or not.
What troubleshooting steps can I take?
thanks!

The networking configuration from within XBMC is all disabled. However, actual network should work fine.

I think it ended up actually being about the scraper services. After I tried 4 or 5 times to pull down music info from allmusic, it finally worked. So ethernet appears to be fine, the scrapers seem to be finicky.

I also fiddled with the settings, but finaly understood that they didn't do anything. I also can confirm that wireless on a mbp 2.4 works like a charm with 1.3.2... yesterday i watched a 1080p streamed over smb over wireless(803.11n). Loveley!!!
