Stage6 to shut down within days

By the way, I quote from qss forums:

"That's because the download links change after time. There's no way you'll be able to keep movies streaming with the same URL as the time stamp on the URL constantly changes"

... which isn´t too good for playlists.

Ok, sent an email to Navi-X manager. Hopefully it gets put in the Navi-X Media Portal soon.

If you can't wait that long here is the playlist link.
FlyUpload Movies - http://xbmcepisodes.50webs.com/FlyUpload/FU_Movies.plx

Enjoy!

Thanks. But to be honest, many of this links won´t work. As I posted the quote: flyupload seems to slightly change the links, what makes them pretty short-term.

Ok, as hew97 stated the links change after awhile. So for this to work I would have to constantly update the playlist far to much to make it possible. Also some that still worked today in VLC won't play in XBMC (Navi-X or .pls file on HDD) I get "Error, playlist playback aborted. Too many consecutive failed items."

If you know of any high quality video storage sites that don't change the links after time and you can stream them. Please let me know.

8BitBrad, thanks at least for trying.

I have a remaining question about FlyUpload. How does FlyUpload allows you to share a file if the link constantly changes? There must be a fixed factor in this concept.
If the user gets access to the file via a HTML page which contains the (changing) link to the file, then it should be possible to write a HTML parser to grab the link (assuming the link is hard coded and no Java is used for this). In this case we should not share the link to the file but the link to the HTML page.

Is this a working solution? Anyone?

Thanks,

From what I understand is this. You are allowed to use and share a link to a file by using a url which has a "fid" #. I'm guessing it stands for "file id #". I could be wrong. ex. http://www.flyupload.com/get?fid=3523327

from this page it gives you a link that somehow generates a download link. A parser could be possible I believe (out side of Navi-X).

You would have to have a playlist such as I made or a website that has links to active FlyUpload links such as http://ipb.quicksilverscreen.com/index.p...opic=72885 , http://joox.net/forum/1/thread/28115 , http://joox.net/forum/1/thread/22883 . (again, these would have to be the links to the "fid"). Then the parser would have to parse the url that is in the "Continue to Download" link on that page. Giving you a link such as (http://www.flyupload.com/thankyou?URL=ht...=&c=MTA%3D) Then the script/plugin would have to take out the (http://www16.flyupload.com/dl?fid=352332...=&c=MTA%3D) and then have it play that url.

I'm not to sure if it uses java. Someone else would have to clarify that.

If somebody could attempt to make a script/plugin for FlyUplaod Movies that would be great. I'm not the best at python, and regex.Sad I believe it could be a working solution

Guys, I found POSSIBLY a great solution: divxvine!

http://www.divxvine.com/W34LHSPDMHQJ/VIR...1.avi.html

Get the media link out of it (using Downloadhelper addon for Firefox, for example) and paste that one into your Navi-X playlist. In this case: http://www.divxvine.com/uploads/00000/W34LHSPDMHQJ

No buffering via XBMC, it runs smoothly and way faster than flyupload. Woohoo!

Great find,

Now only to find a site that has DivxVine links. I'll see what I can find.
Also, you don't have to use Downloadhelper addon for Firefox to get the Vid link. The link is already in the "Embed" box below the video.
ex. <param name="src" value="http://www.divxvine.com/uploads/00000/W34LHSPDMHQJ" />

You´re right, finding those movies is not the easiest task. Divxvine is a pretty new site, so I guess there aren´t many movies so far.

Really, really sad. Stage6 was the reason I turned on my xbox...

But there was some news which made me slightly happy today: the crappy movies on youtube will get better quality. You can get the better quality already by appending a short string to the url of the video:
http://lifehacker.com/362922/get-higher+...a-url-hack

or the direct source:

I already have seen some Youtube videos in 480x360 using Navi-X. But I did not have to change Navi-X for this. Most videos are still in 320x240 (QVGA) but some are in 480x360 (I watched some 'HD' movie trailers).

I will have a look if all videos can be switches to higher resolution.

I also noticed that XBMC was not able to stream these higher resolution videos without pausing (buffering) a number of times. I used MPlayer in this case (DVDPlayer did not play these files at all). I think is was not a bandwidth problem but more a lack of CPU power to stream these files.

In general I think that FLV video playback in XBMC is something that needs attention. Hopefully the codec handling flv files can be further improved.

I absolutely agree! Back when tvcatchup was still working I used to stream their .flv files to XBMC. Worked amazingly well.

Congratulations to rodejo16. He managed to get Megavideo movies to work with Navi-X. And he even implemented Sopranos episodes Wink Keep up the fantastic work!

@rodejo: It would be great, if you could implement the Megavideo movies from Quicksilverscreen.com. If I try to play them via a playlist, it won´t work. Thanks.
